Effective Date: June 11, 2026
Welcome to APEXFILES (hosted at https://apexfiles.pages.dev). This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, uses, stores, and protects your information, specifically regarding your Google user data and any files you process using our tools.
1. Information We Access and Collect
When you choose to connect your Google Drive to APEXFILES, we request access to your Google Drive via the Google Drive API.
- Requested Scopes: We request access to view and manage specific files you open or create with our application.
- Data Accessed: We only access the specific documents, PDFs, or images that you explicitly select to open, merge, or process within our file-management and OCR utility tools.
- Device Information: We may temporarily access device-level metadata such as screen resolution or browser capabilities locally to optimize the performance of our tools, but this is never transmitted out of your device.
- No Background Collection: We do not track your browsing history, IP address, or location.
2. How We Use Your Information
APEXFILES uses your Google Drive data exclusively to provide the application's core functionality.
- We use the API to fetch the file contents so you can view, extract, merge, compress, sign, or apply OCR processing to your documents directly within the application interface.
- We do not use your Google Drive data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than facilitating the specific file operations you request.
- Processed files are generated within your browser’s memory and are only saved to your local machine or back to your Google Drive when you explicitly click "Save" or "Download".
3. How We Store Your Information
APEXFILES is designed with a privacy-first, client-side architecture.
- Local Processing: File processing (such as PDF manipulation, image conversion, background removal, and OCR) occurs directly within your web browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript.
- No Remote Server Storage: Your files and Google user data are never transmitted to, or stored on, any external APEXFILES databases or third-party servers. We do not have backend servers storing your data.
- Local Browser Storage: We utilize your browser's local storage (IndexedDB, LocalStorage, and SessionStorage) to temporarily hold dataset preferences, themes, and application states to improve your user experience. Specifically, the My Vault feature automatically logs and saves generated files (images, PDFs, and ZIPs) locally so you can easily access them later. Note: Files generated within the PDF Workspace and HTML to PDF tools are explicitly excluded and are not saved to My Operations. This data never leaves your device, is automatically limited to prevent large storage usage, and can be manually deleted or cleared at any time directly from the My Operations tab or by clearing your browser data.
- Data Retention: Since we do not have a server, we retain absolutely zero data. Once you close the application tab, the temporary memory used to process your files is immediately freed by your browser.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We respect your privacy. APEXFILES does not share, sell, rent, or transfer your Google user data or personal files to any third parties under any circumstances. We do not use third-party analytics trackers (like Google Analytics or Meta Pixel) that would share your usage behavior.
5. Third-Party Services and Libraries
APEXFILES relies on the following third-party open-source libraries for in-browser processing:
- PDF.js and pdf-lib: For reading and modifying PDF documents locally.
- Tesseract.js: For performing OCR text extraction entirely in the browser.
- Fabric.js: For the Image Workspace and PDF Annotation canvas.
APEXFILES's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Cookies and Tracking
APEXFILES uses minimal local storage to remember your theme preference (Dark/Light mode) and recent tool usage for convenience. We do not use tracking cookies, marketing cookies, or any scripts designed to monitor your behavior across the web.
7. Revoking Access and Data Deletion
Because APEXFILES does not store your data on our servers, there is no remote account to delete. You maintain full control over your Google Data. You can revoke APEXFILES’s access to your Google Drive at any time by visiting your Google Account's security settings page (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions) and removing access for APEXFILES.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
8. Contact Us
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact us via the Contact Developer page.
